Ive been in Colorado for awhile now. Im stationed at Fort Carson. The past few years Ive dabbled in duck hunting with limited success. Each year I kill a couple but nothing to really brag about. Im wanting to really get on em this year and bring lots of ducks home to momma. Ive hunted down south near Walsenberg a couple times. Due to field exercises and deployments Im never really able to get out as much as I would like. But this year I will actually be home for the entire season. So im really wanting to get out and do some damage. Ive got some decoys, waders, guns, ammo.....just lookin for any tips and pointers or maybe a hunting buddy(those guys are few and far between in my unit) So i hope to hear from yall and look forward to reading the many posts on this website. Thanks

First of all thank you for your service. If I was in your area I would spend some time getting to know the Arkansas east of you once the migration starts. Some of guys on this forum hunt out there and post regularly. Keep your eyes and ears open and you will get a few tips. Don't be afraid to go west early in the season. Not much pressure there and some good ducks until winter really hits. I have done well on Antero Res. over the years. Not many places to hide, so cover up and lie low. Also, San Luis valley can be great. Good luck!
